The Powerful Legacy of Prophet Saleh: Unveiling Divine Mercy and Uncommon Lessons
The Story of Prophet Saleh
Prophet Saleh was a prophet sent to the tribe of Thamud in ancient Arabia. The Thamud were a prosperous people who had built great cities and lived in luxury. However, they had become corrupt and were worshiping idols.
Prophet Saleh came to the Thamud and preached to them about the oneness of God and the need to worship Him alone. He told them that their idols were false and that they would be punished if they did not repent.
The Thamud refused to listen to Prophet Saleh. They mocked him and said that he was a liar. They even threatened to kill him.
One day, Prophet Saleh told the Thamud that God would send them a sign. A few days later, a she-camel appeared in the valley where the Thamud lived. The she-camel was a gift from God to the Thamud.
The Thamud were overjoyed by the she-camel. They used her milk and wool to sustain themselves. However, after a while, some of the Thamud became greedy. They wanted to kill the she-camel so that they could have all of her milk and wool for themselves.
Prophet Saleh warned the Thamud not to harm the she-camel. He told them that if they did, they would be punished by God.
The Thamud ignored Prophet Saleh’s warning. They killed the she-camel.
When God saw that the Thamud had disobeyed Him, He sent a punishment. A great earthquake shook the valley and the Thamud were all destroyed.

- Quran 11:61-62: And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. He said, “O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. He has brought you forth from the earth and made it your habitation. So plead with Him for forgiveness, then turn to Him penitently. My Lord is indeed nearmost [and] responsive.” They said, “O Salih, you have been among us as a source of hope before this. Do you now forbid us to worship what our fathers have worshipped and to prevent us from doing what we please? Then come, if you are of the truthful.”
- Quran 26:141-159: And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Saleh. He said, “O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. He has established for you on the earth firmness and has provided for you therein means of subsistence. Then do not fear Allah but fear Me and do not violate the sanctity of Allah’s signs while you know [it].” They said, “O Salih, you have not brought us any clear evidence, and we are not about to abandon our gods for your word alone, and we do not believe in you.” He said, “My Lord is aware of what you do.” So he invoked his Lord, and there came from within the mountains a rumbling sound, and they became within the morning as though they had never flourished.
